This one took a while to get released. Jan actually finished a version of this album a few years ago. We sent it around to a bunch of labels and no one wanted to release it. We hadn’t exactly given up – but we’d kind of hit a wall. Then Jan worked with Lee Scratch Perry and told me, “Hey – I’m going to work on this record again – I have a bunch of new ideas.”

The album he finished was a huge leap forward! It was called “At Pepe’s” up until right before the master was finished. . .we’d had a memorable pizza at Frank Pepe’s in New Haven either going to coming to Jan’s post at MIT. He’s no longer there – but we got to play a number of times. . .I hope we can jam again soon!
